Webprint today announced that it has won the contract to print The Cork News from the end of July 2013. Valued at over €500,000, this annual contract will see the final element in the production of the newspaper be carried out in Cork.
“This is a contract we’ve had to work hard for,” explained Donagh O’Doherty, Managing Director of Webprint Concepts Ltd. “The Cork News has a big print run, tight deadlines and a massive audience in Cork that expect their paper first thing on a Friday. Because we can deliver, we got the job.”
The first edition of The Cork News to be printed at Webprint will roll off the presses on the night of Thursday 25th July. It will be delivered to 38,000 homes across Cork City on Friday morning. A further 12,000 copies are distributed at heavy footfall locations.
“Being the leading weekly paper in Cork we were keen to bring that final element of our production process back to the county to help support Cork jobs given recent developments,” explained Daniel Carey Managing Director of Cork News and Media Ltd. “This move means that the entirety of our process begins and ends here in Cork and as a Cork-owned company, that's very important to us.”
Winning this contract is the latest step taken by Webprint in helping secure the long-term success of company. The last few months have seen them pick up the printing contracts for the Echo (Tallaght), the Clare Champion and the Dealer Group.
